girls can tell

Sara Selepouchin of girls can tell in Philadelphia, Pa., isn’t just an artist. She’s a trained architect. It’s her drive to create technical drawings (a passion that stems from the seventh grade) that links her two careers.

Enter the land of girls can tell: technical drawings with wit and humor screen-printed onto dish towels (including these “Brooklyn Bridge Architectural Floursack Towels”), felt coasters, baby onesies, and much, much more. Selepouchin is inspired by everything—from light fixtures to vintage dresses.

Want in on the action? She has a form on her website where fans can submit ideas for her illustrations and diagram designs. To hear more of her story, click below.

This is one video in a series of interviews recorded at the Buyers Market of American Craft in Baltimore, Md., Aug. 23-25, 2010.
