General Inquiries:

If you have a question about a specific post, would like to know more about the Blog, or want to submit materials for consideration, please e-mail NICHE’s assistant editor Jennifer Clary at jenniferc [at] rosengrp.com.

Submission Guidelines:

Q: Who qualifies for coverage on the NICHE Blog?

A: We primarily feature handmade work by North American fine craft artists in Artist Profiles and What’s New articles. All works featured are exclusively studio-made by artists in the United States and Canada—no imports or mass-manufactured products are covered.

This includes gold and silver jewelry; ceramics and dinnerware; handcrafted handbags, scarves and fashion accessories; sculpture; clocks; furniture; tableware; blown glass vases and designer lighting; contemporary art giftware; and eco-art products made from recycled or sustainable materials. The selection spans both functional and decorative works for a wide range of settings, including art for residential and commercial spaces.

The work featured is available at wholesale pricing. We vet the artists to serve our primary audience of retailers and gallery owners who sell these works.

Q: What information do you need from artists interested in being featured?

A: Please submit the following materials to Claire Patterson Blome at clairep [at] rosengrp.com:

  • Your artist statement and biography.
  • 3-5 high-resolution images of your newest work (for details, see below).
  • An image list with each product’s title, year created, materials used and any necessary photography credits.
  • Your complete contact information for our records.

Q: What are your photography requirements?

A: Send product shots with single-color or faded backgrounds, or images of the product(s) nicely situated in a scene. We want your work to pop off the screen and grab attention. Try to avoid sending cropped images. Strong horizontal images of a single product are preferred but not required. Images must be a minimum of 300 dpi at 4×6 inches. You may send everything via e-mail. Please note: our e-mail software rejects messages that contain attachments exceeding 6MB total. Please break up the images and send them in smaller batches if you have large files.

Q: I am a fan of your artist video series. How can I participate?

A: We’re currently only interviewing artists who exhibit at the Buyers Market of American Craft in Philadelphia and Baltimore. If you are a Buyers Market artist and would like to be considered, please contact Claire Patterson Blome at clairep [at] rosengrp.com.

Q: I’m a retailer. I’d love to share my story. How do I submit information?

A: We plan to interview retailers across North America for a future retail profile series. If you’re interested in participating, please contact Claire Patterson Blome at clairep [at] rosengrp.com for details.

Q: I am a marketer who sells products and services to small business owners. How can I pitch my product or service?

A: Please send a press release along with sample images (see above for requirements) to Claire Patterson Blome at clairep [at] rosengrp.com for consideration.

Q: I would like to promote my coverage on NICHE’s Blog. Do you have a press release I can send to my list of contacts?

A: Yes! Once you know your product is slated for coverage, please request a copy of our press release tailored to your post.
