NICHE Awards

The NICHE Awards program began in 1990 to celebrate excellence and innovation in American and Canadian fine craft. Artists are recognized in professional and student divisions.

Top Retailer Awards

Sponsored by NICHE magazine, the Top Retailer Awards annually recognize American and Canadian fine craft galleries and retailers, arts nonprofits, museum stores and guilds for growing and strengthening the North American craft community. Each year, the program begins with nominations cast by craft artists. Nominations are based on the criteria outlined in NICHE magazine’s Retailers’ Guide to Best Practices.

NICHE magazine’s Retailers’ Guide to Best Practices

NICHE magazine’s Retailers’ Guide to Best Practices details the characteristics of craft retailers who are committed to fair business practices.

Buyers Market of American Craft

The Buyers Market of American Craft (BMAC), a wholesale show held twice a year, offers a venue for innovative artists to connect with qualified galleries. This show provides a professional setting for the development of wholesale contacts and generates new business for both buyers and sellers of American craft art.

AmericanStyle magazine

The mission of NICHE’s sister publication AmericanStyle magazine is to inform craft enthusiasts and art collectors about the significance of handmade objects of art. Launched in 1994 by The Rosen Group, AmericanStyle provides art lovers with valuable tips on decorating, interior design, display and lighting ideas for everything from designer jewelry and art glass to collectible teapots, art furniture and sculptural ceramics.

The Rosen Group

NICHE magazine’s parent company, The Rosen Group is an arts marketing, publishing and advocacy firm based in Baltimore, Md. Founded by Wendy Rosen in 1981, The Rosen Group was created to function as a trade association for American crafts. “At the time, there was no infrastructure for artists, such as trade shows, publications and associations, like other industries had developed.”
